Hello, I am trying to get raman scattering signal from my spectrometer. Previously I had a setup for fluorescence spectrometer and it was working pretty good with good signal intensity. Now, I am trying to get raman scattering from the same setup. My general setup is:

477nm excitation laser

250 s^-1 chopper

sample cell

477 nm filter placed at right angle to the sample cell

monochrometer and the detection system (at right angle).

I was hoping to get a raman scattering signal from benzene. But instead I ended up getting a signal at 606 nm. I made sure that the benzene I used was not contaminated by running it in a raman spectrometer and the signal peak was at 1000 cm^-1. I wanted to know if the 606nm signal that I got for benzene in my setup corresponds to something. Or may be its just a calibration error? Also, I wanted to ask if I have the wrong system setup and need to make some changes to make the fluorescence to raman scattering conversion. Also, I would be grateful if I could get help on figuring out and calculating proper raman scattering signals.

Thanks a lot in advance.
