Greetings everyone,

I am trying to build a setup for Raman Spectroscopy. I have been working on this project for a month now and it has been really challenging for me to get a signal.

Here's my setup:

Nd:Yag pulse laser 532nm as excitation source. The excitation beam is directed to the sample cell. A converging lens of 4 cm focal length is placed at right angles to the cell (in front of the cell window). An optic fiber is placed at the focal length to focus the scattered light. A 532nm notch filter has been placed between the focusing lens and the optic fiber. The optic fiber is then directed to the monochromator. The signals are then processed using photomultiplier tube and lock-in amplifier and finally on the computer. I have attached a picture of a portion of the setup.

I can't seem to find what the issue is. So, I wanted to ask if anyone has any information on what the proper setup should be. Or is there any changes I could make. May be a better detection setup or any optics that would make the detection more easy? Any help would be very much appreciated. I would be happy to provide any further details/specifics of the optics.

Thank you very much in advance.
