Can you explain in detail your methodology?

If you are running an additive manufacturing simulation, are you using some sort of iterative method for each layer?

It is difficult to jump to any conclusion without a complete problem statement.

I am running Ansys explicit analysis to predict the induced residual stresses after Laser Shock Peening process on Ti6Al4V manufactured by additive manufacturing.

So for the methodology, I am varying laser peening parameters i.e. laser power density, spot size and number of shots.

Then the simple solution is to update stress in a "predefined field" inside the load section of Abaqus CAE.

It updates previous job stresses to a new job as initial or predefined stresses.
