I am looking at the fish community in a shallow lake in south-eastern Norway where it appears that both bream and and silver bream has gone extinct.
Can anyone recommend any litterature that describes tolerance for chemical- and enviornmental factors amongst cyprinids and/or inter-species competition where Bream holds the short end of the stick? Other species in the lake are roach. rudd, pike and perch.

I think your question will be difficult to answer, since 'breams' is not a phylogenetic group, but rather a body-type. In contrast to Cyprinids that is a huge wide-spread family with a range of conditions and habitats, and a family that will be difficult to narrow down specific environmental and chemical conditions except for 'fresh-water'-conditions. I think there are simply too many unknown and uncertainties to say with confidence the reason for their disappearance in a general sense.
If you have measurements and data about the populations and chemical conditions from the lake it might be possible to compare to previous data points and figure out a connection.
