I am studying adherence to medications and my patients are coded as 1 male,2 female and adherence to medications was coded as 1 adherent,2 non-adherent. The number of medications for each patient is 2,5,6 and so on.
I need to find out if adherence is associated with gender. if adherence is associated with a number of medication in each regimen and what the correlation between adherence and gender and number of medications.
Could you give me an advice about what statistical tool to use?
Hi,
first you have to see association of gender with each type of medication using chi-squre test or fisher exact test followed by logistic regressing in order to quantifying magnitude of association.
Secondary, you can one variable for all medicine using 'AND' or/and 'OR' operators than apply same procedure.
