I have submitted a paper in a binary peer-review journal. The associate editor sent me the decision that my paper was rejected but encouraged to resubmit with changes. The 3 reviewers found my paper technically sound, comprehensive and original, but they asked some revisions (e.g. adding references, a figure, correcting some typos...). So I addressed all the reviewers concers, and I resubmited the paper with a response letter to the reviewers comments. However, this time, the editor in chief sent me a mail that my that my paper was rejected without any information. I was frustrasted because I took the time to address the specific comments of those reviewers, so I am not motivated o submit to another journal and wait a long time for other review.

What could it happen? What can you recomend to do?
