Based on your expertise, which environment do you find the better between Matlab and Python to design deep learning models? Python is free and you have a lot of libraries, but in the case you have the possibility to purchase Matlab and their tools, which environment do you prefer?
I'd say obviously python, for its extensive libraries and ease of programming. All the deep learning project I have worked on and heard about are in python.
PYTHON:
- Free and Open-source
- Much larger community
- You are able to run it on free cloud services like Google's
- Much lighter
- You are able to use different packages: tensorflow (my favorite), pytorch, ...
- Scientific + Commercial projects
- ...

I would recommend you to use a Python environnement with CUDA + TensorFlow / PyTorch, running on Docker and to purchase GPU hardware instead of Matlab Licences.

In my opinion, Python is the best programming language. It provides libraries for deep learning, machine learning algorithms and natural language processing. Most of the times, people working in this field prefer python and upload their work related python modules online which saves our time from writing same program.
In my opinion, Python is the best: free, simple, and you can find a lot of sources related to deep learning.
