Where have been the other billions of people? Whether the fate of our planet is but an insignificant issue?
Many of you are calling yourselves as scientists and researchers with highly developed morals.
What can you do individually for saving the biosphere or decreasing the pollution and deterioration of environment?
I personally, teaching ecology, entomology and crop protection stress the sustainable agricultural and crop protection practice and try to show alternative ways to avoid dangerous pesticides and transgenic crops and saving hedges. Other opportunities are the examples of personnel way of life saving (not wasting) materials and energy, planting trees and shrubs and producing vegetables and fruits in a sustainable way.
Is this thread like talking to a brick wall?
Thanks for your nice insight and appreciate the brilliant advise, we do follow the same and would try to enhance our caliber to a greater extent for safer environment and cleanup program.

Regarding system theory the best way to change the operation of a system – I mean economic and social attitudes determine the operation of societies as the biggest system influencing the biosphere which is also a system itself – the transcendent paradigm should be changed. This is basic human relationship to economy and nature.

Dear Andras, there are several related threads on climate change. Allow me to bring just two of them here. Your question is asking about what can be done on the individual level. Each of us must do our part to reduce wastage of resources: oxygen, water, electricity, petrol etc. If we have garden or land, we can surely do some fruit and vegetable planting, but not all of us have land.
NGOs are also set up. 'The Climate Action Network-International (CAN-I) is a worldwide network of over 700 Non- Governmental Organizations (NGOs) in 95 countries working to promote government and individual action to limit human-induced climate change to ecologically sustainable levels.'

My thread was but a simple test on the manifestation of responsibility and knowledge of “scientists” compared with those of the 675000 Avazeers. As you could see the simple people with good intentions won. This shows how important paradigms are in our world!
Another approach was the personnel opportunity. If each of us made efforts for solving troubles of Nature we would live in a much better world.
Thanks Andras. I think you should send your question to us all. Most of the time, RG members are busy and respond only to question in our message box. It's the truth, although some may not admit. So the responsibility of the one who ask the question is to communicate it to our RG boxes; and perhaps it's the responsibility of RG members to spend some free time for RG each day or each week. For some reasons (not easily understood), some people disappear from RG after posting questions.
At the individual level, each must groped to minimize His ecological footprint. But we know that the sum of the reduction of individual externalities does not determine the minimization of the collective footprint on the environment. One approach that I carry on for years is that of the return of the techniques or reswitching of techiques. this does not mean the rejection of modern technology, but a deconstruction and reconstruction of them according to the principles of sustainability. In the field of conventional agriculture for example, the return to the rotations, the fight guided to pests of plants, the no tillage etc.

Unfortunately, the situation becomes more and more dangerous and complicated as a consequence of human interventions:
Over 75 percent decline was assessed in flying insect biomass during 25 years in protected areas in Germany! What may be the decline in chemically controlled agricultural areas? Certainly, pollinators, natural enemies and other not target species are included.
