If you're going to use different stocks from what has been used earlier you need to research what the differences between them are and account for that. Outbred animals are obviously much more variable between individuals than inbreds, but they still often have specific traits that can make differences to results. It depends on your experiment. Unfortunately my experience is with mice and rats so I can't tell you anything about these guinea pigs. I would advice asking the vendor you bought the animals from. Companies like Harlan and Taconic often have fact sheets about the animals they sell. But remember there might be differences between vendors because of mutations and genetic drift so try to get info from the correct company.
