When conducting a systematic mini-review on a specific topic (e.g., EMRD), the reference list will inevitably contain articles that do not directly investigate that topic (e.g., articles addressing other topics, such as methodological issues and comparative or alternative therapies, that will generally be cited in the discussion section). Am I correct in assuming only articles directly related to the topic under investigation (e.g., EMRD) are recorded in the PRISMA flow diagram, as opposed to including all the articles cited in the reference list?
