I'm curious about the opinions of colleagues on professor watch lists created by conservative (or, I suppose other) organizations to monitory and report on professors. I ask, in part, because conservative groups in the US have been putting professors on watch lists due to their perceived political views. I am wondering what scholars in other countries think about this sort of thing.
If it is students who rate a professor, it is certainly useful.
Watch lists are created to point out faculty who have political views that the group making the list dislikes. It’s not a professor rating system.

I do not think much of professor watch lists. It reminds me of censorship. Professors shoud have the right and freedom to choose their political orientation. We have nothing of this in my country. Professor watch lists make me think of Donald Trump's administration which is a tragedy for the USA and even for the entire world. Unfortunately, Trump is not alone in his political ideas.

I think academics should maintain the dignity of the academic profession. All most all the countries politicians try to influence and use academic positions for their benefit.
