I am currently writing up a thesis of an11-months field research Lao PDR. I have talked with my supervisors about publishing results base on each of the 4 objectives in several specialize journals. The objectives of categorized under theses themes:
1. The effects of biochar-based treatments on physical and chemical properties of soil and its influence on the growth and harvested yield of water spinach?
2. The impacts of biochar-induced treatments on soil water availability.
3. Irrigation groundwater quality and crop water use efficiency to enhance agricultural productivity.
4. The cost-benefits evaluation of agricultural productivity relative to each biochar-induced treatments.
And lastly, a policy piece that would look at specific policy recommendations and implications of biochar use in agricultural productivity and climate change mitigation and how decision support systems could be used for integrative and sustainable soil and water resources to enhance agricultural productivity at the rural, provincial, and national levels.

From the policy perspective, you may want to look at the approaches to simulating the productivity levels and the costs of biochar in various communities. Also as the benefits of Biochar meed to be maintained over fairly a long period of time, one needs to think about the long terms perspective and simulations over a long period of time. A village level Social Accounting Matrix approach may be helpful as well.
