Farhana Najnine, I think I share similar experience. I was able to publish four articles during the year though I targeted six.
Year 2020 has thought many of us to keep working under intense stress especially the psychological stress imposed on us by the pandemic and the resultant lock down. You will agree with me that we've also learnt how to work from home, telemedicine consultations, online meetings and course etc. In all, I think there were some gains among the loses.
I didn't manage to get anything published this year. However, I have learnt new software packages, online meetings and conferences, did COVID CBT training, suicide training, carried out a literature search and started a literature review, and started a job with an NHS Trust on a project.
I have done so many things in 2020, both good and bad. One would think that the year lasted longer. I published two papers, got a new job, completed all my MBA assignments, etc. The year was so challenging but also comprised some major growth opportunities.
Yes! Besides many up's and down, it was quiet productive year (2020) for me. I published four article and one book chapter but unfortunately didn't received any research fund that was quit disappointing for me. I am also away from my family for more than one year because of COVID-19 situation's and missing them a lot.
The year 2020 will be influenced by the SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) coronavirus pandemic. A lot has changed in our daily functioning. We work mainly remotely. We managed to adapt to the new pandemic situation. This is an achievement.
My biggest pride in 2020 is the detection that face-splitting product of matrices proposed by me in 1996, was used in the tensor sketch, Natural Language Processing, B-Splines, P-Splines, and another areas:
Article A family of face products of matrices and its properties
Preprint Higher order co-occurrence tensors for hypergraphs via face-splitting
I published my life's work, my research findings on Matrix Shell Model formalism, in form of the book, titled " A tryst with Matrices: The Matrix Shell Model formalism " in March of 2020.
But perhaps more importantly, I learnt to look and appreciate life in a whole new light from year 2020; to understand the value of life and to strive making it worth living for the human race and the entire ecosystem.
