I plan to measure nitrate with a photometer.
I found some references showing that NO3- does not absorb at 275 nm, so we can separate nitrate with other organic matter.
Is there any other way to determine nitrate? Thanks!
The best way is HPLC with an anion exchange column. Absorption at 210nm. Separation from nitrite etc.
We use a ion exchange chromatography with a conductivity detector. Nitrate content in the vegetable is determined in 0.5 g of dried sample using an IonPac AG14 precolumn and an IonPac AS14 separation column (Dionex Corporation).
