Many such journals can be found at this link: http://bit.ly/1HQQZ2w (this is a link to a search in the directory of open access journals doaj.org ; you can further specialize it by restricting it to the journals in your specialty).

I can tell you about Spanish Golden Open Access Journals on Architecture... Best recognized in the areas you mentioned are 'Proyecto, progreso, arquitectura' (PPA) and 'VLC arquitectura Research Journal' (VLC). Although not specialized in systemic design, eco-system or full-scale prototyping, their focus and scope is wider enough to accept these topics. Both being absolutely free of charges and open access, PPA is in Scopus, and both are indexed in the Web of Science and the Avery Index to Architectural Periodicals. In addition, they accept submission of full-text in English.
If you wish to have a look at other countries, I would recommend 'AR: Arhitektura, Raziskave' (University of Ljubljana), Footprint (TU Delft; you already recommended it to me), and 'Enquiry' (the ARCC journal; only one volumne per year).

Also, many Springer journals let you share your article via ReadCube so that it can be read by anyone (but cannot be downloaded if one has no valid subscription) who has a sufficiently modern browser to handle enhanced PDF; for example, the published version of my recent article Integrable (3+1)-dimensional systems with rational Lax pairs can be read in this way here: http://rdcu.be/Dkwh .
This can be a reasonable substitute for open access (of course, if you are not officially required to publish open access by, say, your university or your grant agency), but again you should check this for each journal separately whether this feature is available for it; see also https://www.springernature.com/gp/researchers/sharedit for details.
