I am growing graphene on copper foil and then transfering it on SiO2-substrate. If I have a look onto it with SEM I see these strange structures. Raman says that the brighter spots are graphene flakes but I have no idea what these curvy and circle stripes could be. Did you ever observe something similar?

I did some SEM with GO attached to Si substrate before and I think your curve and stripe could be impurities (fingerprint, dust, or the like).
Did you treat your substrate and attach GO in clean environment?

@Samuel: The copper foils are electropolished and there might be phosphoric residues on the foils. However, we anneal the foild before growing graphene at high temperatures. EVen if there were finger prints on the surface, they would be gone after the annealing step. Do you mean graphene oxide by GO?
@Sergei: Unfortunately I can't do EDX at the moment. If it would be salt stains, wouldn't they go away after a annealing step? I always treat the samples the same way and I've never whitnessed something like that
But then I should see the same structures on every sample I grow. This was the only one I grew at 500°C, so I would think that it has something to do with the low temperature rather than the salt residues.
