During the IXth Symposium on the Iberian Atlantic Margin held last week in Coimbra (Portugal), I made a short trip to Cascais to the west of Lisbon where I noticed a fossil-rich pavement along the corniche to Estoril. The surroundings are Cretaceous outcrops according to the maps but it is not sure that the pavement was extracted from them. What are these magnificent fossils?

In the field guide it mentions the presence of nerineacean gastropods (including Nerinea) in Early Cretaceous outcrops in the area

Thanks for the document. Meanwhile, I also found another one (almost the same but in french) by the French Cretaceous Group with Jacques Rey again. I also found a map. Finally the fossil is a Nerineid gestropod. Nice place for geotourism.
The whole Portugal is THE place for geotourism and a heaven for geo-research!
