thanks, similar to zeta potential which can be used to determine colloidal stability of particles. is there any device or parameter that can be used to determine colloidal stability of core-shell nanoparticles.
I do not trust Zeta potential measurement. From my experience, only storage for some time will tell you enough about stability of your colloidal system:
- take various concentrations
- store under various temperatures (like 5° in refrigerator, 20° room temperature, some elevated temperature)
after you are basically content with your starting formulations (if no settlement / aggregation already within the first few hours)

actually my composite particles (silica coated SPION) are stable from physical observation. for some weeks now the particles have not settled nor agglomerated. for scientific discussion i need a technique to measure the colloidal stability as result of the steric repulsion.
I don't know what "silica coated SPION" is, and I don't need to know. If you want to generate (in my view: worthless, meaningless) data, just data, then you measure zeta potential.
What I would do is: follow the particle size changes (using Laser Doppler method or else) over time at various temperatures, this woill give you real information.
Not only watching by yes: watch using a nanoscale measurement tool!
