The utilization history of the furnace s important. The use transition metals, transition metal oxides will have strong contamination, such as W, Mo, Cr, Nb, Nd....

Thank you for your response. We are using the vacuum arc remelting furnace to produce Zr- based metallic glasses. However, I am looking for the standards and techniques to measure and report the contamination amount, before and after applying a vacuum environment. It is not surprising that metal oxides are the most common contaminations, but we want to evaluate the effect of the vacuum process on the contamination amount.
