To involve them in as many interactive, task-oriented, and pair and group tasks as possible. The content of the curricula should reflect these components and teachers should also be versed in these techniques.

i strongly agree with Mr. Wondwosen's suggestion, however, i would like to add that also do well to engage them in debates. this will give them the opportunity to express feelings whiles they also communicate alongside to help them to better understand the concept of interpersonal and social skills

One thing I forgot to add is the assessment schemes that teachers use should also align with the skills they wish to foster.

Study, at a university, is generally an empowering process but the staff "administrative & academic" ought to direct the process into constructive outcomes (which include positive interpersonal & social skills).

The staff has to demonstrate good examples for the students to follow. Internal rows & conspiracies, among the staff, can be detected by some shrewd students and this discovery will hit hard the development of the desired skills in the students. When the students perceive the plague of selfishness rampant, among the staff, how come they will get engaged in significant teamwork or cooperation?

The simple wisdom has said "Little things add up to big things".

Practical courses can help in building up interpersonal & social skills (when students are divided into groups to conduct experiments) but this is not enough. When some students get bad marks in the first exam, my constant advice to each of them has been to study with other 2 students exchanging questions & ideas. Many times, this worked & resulted in an improvement.

But, again, all the feud among the staff has to be halted before hoping to empower the students. Those, in responsibility, can "if they wish" do that.

by using experiential learning methods such as project based learning and service learning. students are going to work in groups, plan and implement their ideas, reflect on them and present their work. indirectly they will learn important skills such as how to work in group, time management, empathy, presentation skills, self evaluation and negotiation skills. of course the teacher here plays an important role in training the students and guiding them.

One of the ways by which teachers can attain such behavioral objectives is the implementation of task based teaching . In task based approach, the class is divided into smaller groups where each group tries to handle the task at hand through negotiation , problem solving, and sharing of information. these interactive techniques under the management of the teacher as facilitator, help learners to internalize the norms of social relationships by practicing interpersonal skills.
