No question that teachers are at the center of all educational practices and they are one of the most important factors that determine the quality of students learning. Against this backdrop, I would like to get more evidence testifying how the quality of teaching has a positive influence upon the quality of students learning in the higher education context?
There is a spread of an ineffective method of teaching which involves "Glancing through lecture notes put into PowerPoint slides" . The university teacher is seated & keeps skimming one section after another in a hurried way. In my opinion, this style of teaching is boring & amounts to a full wastage of time for everyone.
There are 2 basic requirements for efficient teaching: real knowledge of the subjects to be taught & honesty in performing the job. Add to them the "spicy" side of enthusiasm combined with an artistic presentation of the information to be transferred in a professional well-designed & thoroughly-prepared manner.
A semester is usually 4 months & within this duration, there has to be a building up process which raises the students from a lower level to a higher level. Setting realistic objectives is a must but there has to be an incessant follow-up of what has been achieved & what has been missed.
Superficial persons underestimate the teaching profession although it was the job of the noble prophets. It is unfortunate that jobs have been evaluated by a "money meter". Those (who think of teaching as a duty, a responsibility, a shaping up of younger generations, and a service for humanity) will surely try their best to become effective teachers producing students of high quality.
There are obstacles but the righteous humans will overcome, eventually…
You can use the student evaluations and compare these with the student performance in the various subjects.

We have to understand in their learning styles and teacher should know his/her teaching style. Then bridging the gap between teaching and learning to meet the goal of higher education. Content and process of learning are both important for younger. Lecture method or others can be occurred in the classroom based on teacher decission. No any teaching methods response all students in classroom, but a variety of teaching will make teacher do the best and succcess in his/her classroom.

The level of 'higher education' needs to mean something to the learner. We need to think of ourselves at a crossroads between being spoon fed and handling our own knife and fork. We now read much more than we ever have, we research for grade and we research for learning. We must be truly in control of our own destiny.
The teacher / professor will perform their the most important function as a 'coach'. The professor knows and has experiences that the learner does not. As a learner I need to question, propose, bring my lack of understand and express what I need to the one who can clarify the world for me and add substantially to my knowledge. Even a PowerPoint slide flipper has something or many somethings that I need.. it is my responsibility as a true learner to go and get what they have that I need... in a respectfully and honest way, of course.
