I am working to predict flood in a basin of NE India with ArcGis, but I am not able to make the velocity field for it. Give me some suggestions to do my work.
I think you may use HEC-RAS to generate inundation scenarios for your specified discharges at certain locations. Such discharges may be design discharge or any other specific discharge. Then import the tiff files (output of HEC-RAS) back to GIS using GeoRAS and you can also bring back the velocity component as well. This will give you the velocity of flow in the channel and other hydraulic structures.
