When considering any seurity application, it is necessary to consider the whole architecture that will be used, rather than looking for specific gains from one thing, such as the use of smart networks. Attackers will always seek out the weakest link in any architecture. In the case of IoT, Web and application weaknesses are generally the biggest concern, but many people miss the fact that IoT devices themselves can pose an even bigger weakness.

A great many IoT devices are built to the cheapest possible standards, often with limited physical resources on board, and frequently with zero security. Witness the devastating impact of hackers breaching 125,000 web cameras to perpetrate massive DDoS attacks.

Often, there are many vulnerabilities due to this requirement to make the devices as cheap as possible to purchase. With limited or no security, these devices are relatively easy for the determined attacker to penetrate. Once inside the devices, these devices often have a high level of access to other corporate systems further up the line, which is often needed to allow them to pass the mass data they are capable of collecting up the line. This in turn leads to exposure of other corporate systems, which can lead to additional problems. Consider the potential impact the porting of the Mirai virus to Windows could have from within the corporate network, courtesy of infected IoT devices.

IoT devices are cheap for a reason. By not providing proper levels of security and privacy, the hardware and software specification can be pared to the bone. This means the product can be sold cheaply, which still offering massive profits due to the scale of purchases. Sadly, this also means vulnerabilities are also introduced at scale.

It is therefore necessary that any smart sensor network to be introduced to the architecture will need to be very capable of handling such mass levels of insecure IoT devices. This will likely present a far greater challenge than any Web and application weaknesses.

When we talk about the IoT infrastructure , we encapsulate the sensor network and other extended fields in one concept

So the security of this infrastrucre is more challenge than the smart sensor network due to the huge amount of data that is sent and recieved , we can use in this case set of encryption keys and algorithms like MQTT protocol to secure data that will integrate this protocol with what is called Blockchain concept( a sequence of blocks communicate with each other using crypto- graphy algorithm using public key crypto- graphic (like a hash function )

While in case of smart sensor network , we can use set of also encryption key perform less functionality than the IoT infrastructure in general like LEACH Routing protocol that integrates with the IoT, cloud computing and big data concepts
