That is, Is there possibility that when sociolinguistic variations follow a certain recognizable pattern ( for example, youth netizens deviate their language use), a genre variation in the SFL sense will result? To put the question another way, (How) could we relate sociolinguisitc variations to genre variaton in the SFL sense?

My second question (as you mention CDA too) is: Does SFL or James Martin talk about genre colonization as Bhathia does? We know Martin's and Bhathia's concepts of "genre" are not quite the same. (How) can I use SFL or Martin's genre to address genre colonization, such as advertorials?

Martin (2010) distinguishes between dialectal variatiation and codal variation, both of which can be generalized into individuation. Dialectal variation, the low level individuation, refers to phonological and morphological variation as foregrounded in the work of Labov (1972); codal variation, as explored by Martin/SFl, derives from Bernstein's notion of coding orientation (Hasan 2005）and is termed as semantic variation in Martin's model. In this way, sociolinguistic approach to variation and SFL approach to variation are related.
