We have to identify the problems of our country. we have to plan research to solve such problems depending on the resources of our country. Copy of thoughts, ideas, research concepts, research materials from the developed countries is perhaps like a disease of the research communities of the third world countries.

What are the role of universities and graduates in the third world countries ?

Perhaps universities & graduates can take cue or receive guidance from the government / ministry of education etc. on what is the national agenda e.g. reduce the illiteracy, remove the digital divide, increase & improve research in various frontiers, commercialize certain research, provide researched-based consultancies to various companies / entrepreneurs, encourage brain gain & contain brain drain etc.

most of the universities in the developing countries lack the vision of their role in the society. the traditional teaching methods still dominate the teaching/learning process. as a result, our graduates do not acquire the 21st century skills and are not trained to be innovative and work on the needs of their societies.
