I am working on the fused deposition modelling (FDM/FFF) of PEEK material. The 3D printer available is Ultimaker 2+. I would like to know whether the maximum temperature of Ultimaker 2+ be sufficient for the FDM of PEEK.
Ranjit Joy without modifiation the Ultimker 2 is not suitable to print in PEEK. PEEK requires an extruder that can reach 400C a build plate with temperature in excess of 200C and a heated chamber of about 120C. There has been some discussion on this in the Ultmaker community forum in particular modifying the printer to suit the higher temperature requirements of PEEK or other engineering plastics (https://community.ultimaker.com/topic/20118-topic-for-printing-ht-filaments-peekultem-1010ultem-9085ppsupsu-on-um2/ ) .
