I am working in a project that is related to the waste disposal. The main purpose is to use waste materials to produce energy. Main trouble is to get a proper technique to implement this. Looking forward to suggestion.
Globally, more than 1.3 billion tonnes of municipal waste are created each year, and that number is expected to increase to 2.2 billion by 2025. Most of it ends up in landfills where it biodegrades over time, producing biogas, a powerful greenhouse gas largely composed of carbon dioxide, methane and hydrogen sulfide.
Left alone, this methane-rich biogas poses a significant climate threat, as methane carries a global warming potential that is 21 times greater than that of carbon dioxide. But, according to the researchers, engineered anaerobic digestion techniques can also be adapted to capture such gases and transform them into renewable energy. By employing devices such as biogas storage domes, biofilters or combined heat and power co-generation systems, for instance, methane can be collected, cleaned and converted into heat or electricity that can then be substituted for most fossil fuels.
At an agronomic level, the process also contributes leftover nitrogen- and phosphorus-rich digestate material that can be subsequently recovered and used as plant fertilizer. The process for feeding the bioreactor is unique. It involves a semi-continuously fed constant volume overflow approach: the amount of food waste fed into the bottom opening necessitates the removal of an equal amount of treated effluent from the top.The researchers performed various tests on the extracted material to determine its physicochemical characteristics as well as to monitor the biogas quality and quantity. Waste generation rates are affected by socio-economic development, degree of industrialization, and climate. Generally, the greater the economic prosperity and the higher percentage of urban population, the greater the amount of solid waste produced. Reduction in the volume and mass of solid waste is a crucial issue especially in the light of limited availability of final disposal sites in many parts of the world. Although numerous waste and byproduct recovery processes have been introduced, anaerobic digestion has unique and integrative potential, simultaneously acting as a waste treatment and recovery process.
Waste-to-Energy Conversion Pathways : A host of technologies are available for realizing the potential of waste as an energy source, ranging from very simple systems for disposing of dry waste to more complex technologies capable of dealing with large amounts of industrial waste. There are three main pathways for conversion of organic waste material to energy – thermochemical, biochemical and physicochemical.
I would broaden your research proposition into one that addresses converting waste to cash. In this way, you are looking at various methods and technologies that encompass the following:
2. Waste reprocessing into methane which is popularly referred to as converting waste into energy. For plastics, you have waste to liquid fuels.
3. Waste conversion to solid recycled fuels which ware really industrial additives that are used to mix with clinker to produce cement.
For waste to energy, while the concept is environmentally attractive, the economics is proving more challenging. For this reason, I tend to focus on waste to cash type of technologies, which holds more promise economically.
The conversion of waste to energy is done by using the different technique. Each waste has the different method of conversion. Waste are of different types, if you explain the type of waste then may be easy to tell the proper technique.
My research team is extensively working on this topic of waste to energy, waste biorefinery, pyrolysis and anaerobic digestion and published several article in recent years on this topic.

In developing counties their is a problem of waste of any kind, and lot of research going on . The best way to waste - to energy is gasification which has lot of advantages, like disposal of waste, get clean energy, no environmental pollution and so on. Lot of literature available so read it how to gasified the waste or biomass and produced electricity .
