We have grown CuSO4.5H2O crystals by solution growth technique using different solution concentrations, 0.25M and 0.5M. We have noticed that the absorbance of the 0.5M crystal is less than that of the 0.25M crystal. (Both crystals are 2 mm thickness and there is no noticeable difference in the blue color of both crystals). What are the possible reasons for this behavior? Are there any references (even for different materials) that reported such variation?
