I have recently developed a MBR setup with a tubular membrane and I expect to operate it under the constant flux mode.Trials with the pure water are being carried out and I have noticed that the pressure reading of the pressure meter is not changing in the inlet side though the valve positions are changed.That can be due to the broken pressure meter or the overanging of the pressure meter or the pump conditions.I would like to know anyother possible causes.Thanks in advance.
Hi,Mr.Amila,I am using a membrane feeding pump and its flowrate is constant and permate is measured regularly to determine the flux.
okay (so system operates ubder constant flux).
You are running with pure water (so no flunling exoected). So pressure should be constant.
In case you run with wastewater, membrane fouling will occurs and pressure will develop gradually).
By by the way, please check the manufacturer recommended values and your operating values for future operations with wastewater.
