Voting in an election is the fundamental right of citizens in almost every democracy of the world. They have been practicing their franchising for long. However, the recent instances of abstention by voters in elections, particularly in the advanced democracies has put a question mark on the efficacy of the same. On the other hand, the last general election saw almost two-third of the eligible voters turn up on the d-day, an all-time record. The question is what is alienating voters from voting?
