It is a well-known fact that an incumbent government tends to use the government machinery when the next election approaches. In India, the Election Commission is bestowed with the responsibility with regard to conducting fair elections at different levels and it performs its duties to a great extent with fear or favour. Question is, what else measures could be put in place to ensure that the elections could be conducted in a manner that it is a fair game for all the parties involved?
