In order to search for a research topic, you may want to do the following: search on Google Scholar, and write the words, say "Green Finance" or any other topic you want to write about. You will get many papers talking about such topic. Try to skim through these papers (especially their Abstracts) for 2 main reasons: 1- to see what has already been written about the topic, and 2- to check for the research gap/gaps that you want to cover in your study. This is a start. By the way, you may want to keep such relevant research papers to use them as references in your research. You may use the latest papers published about the topic.
Green finance and its impact on firm performance in terms of stock returns is among the hot topics in Current research domain. Try to read latest studies/ work related to green finance to find how much work is done on this topic and what areas can be explored in the future. Similar to green finance climate change also effect firm performance to some extent. Focussing on green environment is among the sustainable development goals that needs to be achieved in the near future so this area needs further future exploration. It is vastly untapped topic.
I think sustainability standards and analysis are quite hot topics based on a chosen company, also how to relate Financial Reporting with Sustainability Reporting in order to attract new Investments and etc.
Sourav Prasad , there is no study about it, but I would I argue that nanofinance is the greenest of all forms of green finance, as it is a sustainable model with low to zero footprint and I would even say with net handprint:

Green financing is an interesting topic, so it depends on the object of research to be studied because in each country the environmental policies are different and whether their implementation is in accordance with the reality on the ground. The point is that it really needs socialization first from the local government because not everyone understands it.
I propose the following developmental, topical, important research topic in green finance issues: Analysis of the determinants of the development of green banking, including the granting of green loans by commercial banks, thanks to which the scale of pro-environmental investment projects is growing. In addition, within the framework of green finance, the determinants of the development of pro-environmental state interventionism can be researched. In this way, through the development of green financing developed both within the commercial and public financial system, it is possible to significantly accelerate the necessary urgent pro-environmental transformation of the classic growth, brown, linear economy of excess to a sustainable, green, zero-carbon growth and closed loop economy. Thanks to the pro-environmental transformation of the economy and the development of green financing systems, we can significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions, slow down the progressive process of global warming, increase the scale of protection of biodiversity of natural ecosystems, protection of the planet's biosphere and climate, reduce the scale of the global climate catastrophe that may already occur at the end of the present 21st century. In view of the above, I propose an important and timely research topic that can be formulated as follows: An analysis of the determinants of green finance developed within the commercial and public financial system.
Thank you for your response and participation in our discussion. Yes. An analysis of the current practices of sustainable financing carried out both by commercially operating financial institutions, including commercial banks and investment funds, and by State Treasury companies, local government entities, public entities coordinated and financed from the State's public finance system may be an important research issue. The analysis may include a comparison of current practices, procedures of particular types of commercial and public sector entities, formulas and scale of financing of pro-environmental economic undertakings in the context of a sectoral (mesoeconomic) approach and against the background of the entire economy (macroeconomic). The research should include a comparison of the realities of current sustainable financing practices, identification and characterisation of the determinants of sustainable financing in relation to green finance. The analysis may also concern the determination of the level of relevance and importance of sustainable and green financing in the context of a comprehensive process of carrying out a pro-environmental transformation of the economy in order to build a sustainable, green closed loop economy. The research may also address the scale of currently implemented pro-environmental state interventionism, taking into account the issue of the pace and effectiveness of the implementation of the process of pro-environmental transformation of the economy and the level of significance of environmental policy against the background of the overall socio-economic policy.
