I've come across multiple organisms which are parasites of animals in these tropical biomes. I was curious as to what parasites are most common among plants in tropical rain forests. Any ideas?
Relatively few tropical rain forest trees use their roots to penetrate tissue of other species (usually drawing water from other species, but making their own carbon), and these are restricted to the order Santalales, including Olax in the Olacaceae, the stem parasites in the Loranthaceae (67 genera, 950 species), the root parasites in the Opiliaceae, the stem parasitic groups within the Santalaceae including the true mistletoes, and the fully parasitic Balanophoraceae.
