I wish to study salt water intrusion into the ground waters of the chosen coastal villages. In my preliminary studies I did analysis of pH, EC, TDS, THW, Ca, Mg, Na, K, Cl, nitrite, phosphate, iron and free residual chlorine based on the Ca/Mg and Mg/Ca ratio and the amount of free residual chlorine and high levels of chloride in groundwater I concluded the groundwater is being intruded by salt water. I wish to know is this study (hydro geochemical) enough to assess the salt water intrusion or I need to go for any other methods?
I think you should consider to make same topographic studies as well as tidal behaviour! it could be helpful to understand better what is happening.

Hydrochemistry play an important role for the intrusion of saine water into fresh water. Chemical analysis of groundwater samples are required, and this must be pre and post mansoon.. In chemical analysis Specific conductivity, HCO3, Cl, B, and Sr are very essential parameters in addition to detailed chemical comosition. HCO3/Cl , Na/Cl/ may give valuable information. HCO3/Cl value will be very low where intrusion is more.I have published case studies in Potharlanka Krishna delta, and Neel Island, Andman and Nicobar etc. may be useful for your study.

Method must be simple ( easy to take observation), precise, quick in result and cost effective.
Your methodology is correct and your conclusions are good but tracer studies used in hydrology can give more details on underground leakage.
Hydro geochemical is enough for geochemically output. However, to show it physically, Modelling using SEAWAT-2000 can be done. It will give a complete understanding of seawater intrusion in your study area.
If salt water means saline water than HCO3/Cl may alone delineate saline water contamination in fresh water. Because HCO3 is very low and NaCl is very high in salt water.Based on HCO3/Cl , water can be classified into fresh, saline and brine also.
