Appropriate research methods depend on the object of study, the theoretical perspective and the researcher's experience. The debates between quantitative and qualitative sampling designs have been a constant in the social sciences, I want to know for you what are the main differences between them. As a sociologist I like to work with qualitative methodological approaches, however sometimes I am not aware that these methods also contain assumptions that question several principles of research. In your experience, what are the main benefits and threats of qualitative sampling design?

Feel free to add your answer in english, french, spanish or portugese.

Best regards
