In the conventional Pfauter machine a planetary gear exists in the kinematic system , and the feeding movement is parallel to the axis of the wheel being cut. In this kinematic system without the planetary gear only machining of wheels with straight teeth could be possible. I have got a textbook on it, however, only in Polish.

I believe it is the same kinematics of any conventional gear Hobbing Machine.

I suggest you read the book "Gear Cutting Tools" from Stephen Radzevich
