Dear Ali, this sounds like an interesting field! I have to admit I wasn't aware of the term, OLI, and consulted Google Scholar to get an idea of what it entails. I embed a link to a brief search about this field. A few RG colleagues also published in the field.
According to the Open Learning Initiative section on the website of the Carnegie Mellon University, their OLI "offers online courses to anyone who wants to learn or teach. Our aim is to combine open, high-quality courses, continuous feedback, and research to improve learning and transform higher education".
