I would like to know if is possible to create Graphene decorated with Sn, Ge and Pb atoms for transport or STM measures? I have been looking at the literature and I haven't found much of it? Is it possible or there are huge technical challenges?
Depends on what kind of graphene you are working with. If its solution processable then the metal atoms will most likely make the graphene aggregate. If its prestine graphene on a supported surface ALD will be the prefered deposition technique i gues.
you can try it with graphene nanopowder, and during top down approach add the docrative material salt, their are possibilities it intercelated inside the graphene traps. or attach some decorative adsorbant ligands with your graphene.
Thank you all for your kind answers. I am a theorical physisics, the reason of my question is that I am studying this type of decorated graphene and I found strange that nobody has study it experimentally yet. So I tought it was because it is experimally challenging to create it
