A bacterium has been suggested to be grown using a Tungsten lamp with a light intensity of 2,000-3,000 lux.
Will it make any difference if the bacteria is grown in light by CFL lamp?
What will be the possible effect/difference of light from different type of light sources, if light intensity is calculated to be same? Regarding effect of heat from different sources, the experiment is usually under controlled temperature in an incubator.
The light source spectrum will be different, and not all the wavelengths are used in photosynthesis (is it phototroph?) with the same efficiency... some are not even used at all. So even at same light intensity, the "usable light" can be very different.

so it means different wavelength of light will be available and may effect growth and metabolism, as CFL produce white light while traditional tungsten bulb produce yellow light.
You have to check the Photosynthetically active radiation (PAR). Incandescent bulbs produce a lot of energy on the red region and beyond (a lot of IR indeed) but they are really poor in the region around blue, which is also important. They are very different in spectra from natural light, as well as very inefficient. From my knowledge, people usually use fluorescent lights, not sure how often those are CFL, and sometimes specific special lights for plants.
In any case, the important part is to reference what you use. Check the literature and see what is the most common light source for the bugs you will grow. I really don't work with photosynthetic organisms so giving you more details would be difficult for me as well.
