(Kees) Kan , of course, it is fact, current researches state that a partial broiler diet with the addition of 15% pea in it, can replace SBM with no other effects on performance, above 15% have had an effect on the health status of birds, these researches are done on Fast-growing broilers, Now, I'm more into research and conduct trial of a partial pea diet on slow-growing broilers.
The slow growing broilers of today probably grow as fast as those in the 1960s or 1970's. So search for data from that time regarding the effect of peas on broilers.
Age needs to be taken into account. The maximum safe level of peas for 12 weeks slow growing broilers could be higher than that for 4 week-fast growing broiler. An experiment with increasing pea levels should answer your question.
