Has anyone looked at the effect of surgical castration (orchiectomy) in male C57BL/6 and how it affects the development of EAE (experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis)? I've not found very clear data in literature about any exacerbation so if any researcher here has seen this effect in B6 do let me know.

It is becoming painfully clear that mice are not men . From H2S to cytokines, data from mice seem useless for therapy in humans. Mice are uniquely evolved to be mice and do not share longevity, inflammation, coagulation, or receptor structure, and diet with humans.
Amongst mice the C57BL/6 is blighted as a sPLA2 knockout genotype. Would you wish to be a veterinarian expert on mutant mice? As scientists using animals it is upto us to maintain clinical relevance. Please review the ARRIVE guidelines. Please try to wed this with any human relevance so you can retain /obtain funding and remain socially responsible to your taxpayer.
