The additives and preservatives in commercial foods today have typically received the Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) approval. some preservatives have unhealthy side effects in large doses. Others, however, have benefits which can outweigh these concerns when used properly. but over dose of several preservatives can cause severe health problems such as cancer, digestive problems etc. nitrates and nitrites can cause asthma, headaches and nausea in some individuals. Sodium nitrite may be converted to nitrous acid within the human digestive system, and this substance has been associated with high rates of cancer in laboratory animals. Allergies to benzoic acid and sodium benzoate can cause severe reactions. Even salt, which the body needs in small amounts, can contribute to cardiovascular disease when regularly overeaten.
Thank You very much that's what came to my mind because majority of the people are of the knowledge that the preservatives approved by FDA got no side affects and today while looking to the market people are preferring the canned foods which can be somehow dangerous to their health.
