Can somebody please inform me, what is actually the type/topology of power converter available at the market for small wind turbines (below 10kW) with PMSG? especially for the rectifier part, is it just simple rectifier or controlled rectifier, with thyristor or MOSFET?
what are the dominant topology people used? for offgrid and ongrid
if you check IEEExplore, then soo many types, but I cannot find the reality in the market
what people recently use actually?

There are two common types of interfaces between PMSG and the load. The first configuration is designed as back-to-back PWM converter [10,11], the second configuration is a single switch mode rectifier and an inverter [12,13]; the former is commonly considered as the technical ultimate operation but may be more expensive and complex, it has a lot of switches which cause more losses and voltage stress in addition to presence of Electromagnetic Interface (EMI). The latter, which is adopted in this paper, is usually used in the stand-alone or small scale wind farms for its simple topology and control, and most importantly, low cost.

The answer you found is totally correct.
The most commonly used topology in PMSG is the back to back two level voltage source convert, when operating at high power, in utility scale wind power plants. This configuration ensures full controllability, the compliance of the demanding grid codes and keeps the cost reasonably low compared to multilevel topologies.
On the other hand, when talking about low scale PMSG, like urban or home wind turbines for example, synchronous rectification with a single switch boost converter for dc bus control is used. A two level inverter is then used in the dc-ac stage. This configuration is cost efficient, and provides all the controllability requirements in these kind of low scale wind generators.

Yes, as you mentioned in your answer, the back-to-back converter and the switch mode rectifier + inverter are the most commonly used for the WTs coupled PMSG.
