I am working on a research project related to semantic personalization.
In this context, I am wondering about the main differences in terms of technical strenghts and weaknesses of the two knowledge bases.
In other words, which knowledge base is more maturated than the other and which one has more available apis to be used and explored.

DBpedia is a great and active project dealing with structured data and Wikipedia. DBpedia extracts structured data from the infoboxes in Wikipedia, and publishes them in RDF and a few other formats.
Wikidata provide a secondary and tertiary database of structured data that everyone can edit. it will allow infoboxes to be created from structured data.

According to former project director at Wiki data "Denny Vrandecic You actually say it yourself: DBpedia is, among many other things, a project to create a graph from Wikipedia data. That is not the goal of Wikidata. Wikidata aims to provide a free knowledge base that anyone can edit. It does not extract data from Wikipedia, as DBpedia does.
What's the future? Always hard to predict. I expect that the extraction service of DBpedia will become less prominent in the mid-term, and that many of the other services - like DBpedia spotlight or their SPARQL endpoint - will become more prominent, get more resources, and be working on better quality data directly taken from Wikidata. But I am not a DBpedia person, and obviously cannot speak for them."

Is it possible to download dbpedia ontology.. I need it for analysis.. Or can i use the sparql point to get all the triples from it
