What are the differences between C-rate and current density to active material (mA/g) in rate performance graphs?

Some researchers use c-rate (0.1 C, 0.5 C ~ 1 C) to boast their rate performance , meanwhile others do in A/g (0.1 A/g, 0.2 A/g ~ 5 A/g).

Apparently, there might be reasons for something, but no one has explained it on papers, textbook, and websites.
