Well few things to clarify...rectangular closed conduit; is it totally filled or partially filled? If it is a partially filled, no matter whether it is closed, it follows the open channel hydraulics.
Wetted perimeter is just the geometric perimeter in both cases then.
I am designing a dual layer channel. The upper part is an open channel with a suitably perforated bottom and the lower part is a rectangular *closed* duct. The whole unit flows by gravity and *subject to atmospheric pressure* since the half of the top surface of the*closed* duct made out of perforated material. So; I want to come up with a practicable formula which is applicable to this kind of situation.
