Cognitive science is the interdisciplinary investigation of mind and intelligence, embracing psychology, neuroscience, linguistics, philosophy, anthropology, and computational intelligence. There are four major trends in the discipline.
The first involves the use of brain scanning technology that includes: fMRI and other technologies such as transcranial magnetic stimulation and near-infrared spectroscopy studying how brains produce thoughts, the effect of emotions, consciousness, and creativity, the mind-body problem, free will, and even the meaning of life.
Secondly, the application of statistical models based on Bayesian probability theory having applications including robotics such as the operation of autonomous vehicles.
Thirdly, there exists an emphasis on embodiment, in particular how the brain uses information gathered from the senses and interaction with the world to perform complex tasks.
The fourth trend in cognitive science involves the social dimensions of cognition, We are seeking ways in which human thinking is affected by the interactions that people have with others in their culture. These interactions depend on biological mechanisms such as the generation and transmission of emotions, but social changes also produce biological changes.

It is good question. The science problem need interdepartmental cooperation. Currently, I studied the motion sickness in Virtual Reality. I need cognitive science to investigate the hypothesis and then optimize the Virtual Reality hardware and software.
Zhenping Xia Your area is very unique & interesting sir. My particular interest is in cognitive disorders like Bipolar Disorder & Early Dementia, would you like to share some suggestions regarding this?
Cognitive-behavioral therapy is amazing at deconstructing the dynamics of dysfunction/disability and training wholeness. I love that bridge of neuroplasticity and cognitive-behavioral therapy and positive psychology in brain injury for re-directing people back to their capacity.
Seija Curtin Thank you so much for sharing your views sir. That's almost relatable to what I was looking for, a psychological touch which can redirect their cognitive capabilities back to their capacity.
Sweta Kaman We came so close with psychology of success and human performance psychology, though we didn't quite know what to do with emotions and doubts and disappointments. What is the outcome difference in ones life that chooses their cognitions to align to their visions of success versus those that simply allow cognitions to flow in based on how they feel....
