Current trends in symbolic AI focus on hybrid neural-coding systems, knowledge graphs, interpretable AI, the integration of symbolic reasoning with LLMs, and logic-based cognitive architectures.
Selvi. S Research scholar Social Work And ontologies and the Semantic Web: are they in the focus of current researches or you are including them, let's say, among KG or logic-based cognitive architectures, or you think they are already outdated?
The most interesting component is explanation generation whicj is the weak side of statistical a la LLM AI.
There is symbolic AI that answers questions directly drom NL texts.

It's true, just two comments:SN are among classical graphical knowledge representations (but there an extended way to represent them by means of data structures in different programming languages, for example, Prolog).
They are not exactly considered current nor vey extended mean of representing knowledge. Even during the golden period of the Symbolic paradigm, production rules and frames were more popular, more extended at the application level (of course, it's true that thoses knowledge representations formalism are, in fact, interchangeble).
