Industry 4.0 has to do with the 4th industrial revolution. I think getting useful data for research projects in industry 4.0 is easier since such are cyber-physical based and mostly uses shared information on the cloud.

However, for SCM projects one need to break the chain into its interacting component before seeking for relevant data( mostly (secondary) through the internet.

NOTE: All industy 4.0 firms supports internet of things(IoT), which makes the data much more easily available and it save you alot of cost in terms of time and money.

I feel that,

1.Data collection is not the problem because of IT,AI,Big data updated technology.

2. Problem are in the incorporating the Ind.4.0 applying methods in simple from guidelines to setup and assessment.

Indonesia has announced 'Making Indonesia 4.0' in April 2018 prioritized in 5 sectors. Data collection would be related to collaboration all sectors and start with the existing data.
