Conflicts between technical and non-technical teams often arise due to differences in communications processes and styles (e.g., use of complex terms that are difficult to understand by non-technical teams, oversimplification of the problems by non-technical teams, leading to technical team frustrations) priorities, and understanding of the importance of the work and goals (e.g., technical and non-technical teams may have misaligned goals as technical teams may prioritize the technical work, whearas non-technical teams me focus on budgets, vague information provided by non-technical teams about the requirements to process administrative and procurement issues, technical and non-technical teams workflows misaligned, lack of flexibility), cultural differences in the way technical and non-technical teams approach the problems and solve it, and unrealistic expectation in for each team as to implement and complete the tasks, and resources constrains created by limited human resources, including conflicts due to competing for resources.

Regular meetings to discuss progress, and identify or anticipate possible bottlenecks. Develop strategies that translated technical and technical jargons to bridge communication issues and misunderstandings. Review objetives and timelines of each team to ensure that all people is working towards the final outcome. If needed make adjustments as appropriate. Each team mush set realistic expectations, and ensure that all people involved understand them. Try to identify potential problems and conflicts. This will require to monitorIng the situations from the standpoint of the technical and non-technical teams. The Project Officer in coordination with the Technical and Non-technical Project Managers should meet regularly. Address any problem or conflicts as soon it is identified. Do not wait until the project is in jeopardy, therefore, Project managers and Project Officer shoud be train in conflict solutions. Finally, the use of technology to assess and monitor progress should be understood by everyone involved in the process, and when needed assigned staff to support the technical team to support them in their use when required to comply with administrative processes.
